THE RENO CHAMBER ORCHESTRA


Announces auditions for:
Principal Clarinet, March 18th, 2023
Principal Timpani-Percussion, March 19th, 2023

 

Please send a one-page resume to personnel@renochamberorchestra.org. The resume deadline is
Monday, February 13th at 5 pm PST. All candidates will be informed if they are invited to audition by
Friday, February 17th. If invited to audition, you will need to mail a refundable audition deposit of $50
(check payable to The Reno Chamber Orchestra) to:

• All invited candidates will be notified no later than February 17th. Deposit checks will be
refunded at the time of audition or shredded if a cancellation notice is received by MARCH 10th.

• Excerpt packets will be
available after resume is received.
• The Reno Chamber Orchestra is a per-service employer with approximately 30 services in the
upcoming season. Per-service scale for principal positions is $126. Per-service scale for section
positions is $105. RCO will also reimburse travel (capped at $200 per concert set for regional
players, $300 for outside of the region) and provide housing via homestay with board members
when applicable.


Travel Information
The closest airport is Reno/Tahoe International Airport (RNO). The auditions will be held on the
University of Nevada, Reno campus. Please do not book your travel to Reno until you have been invited
to audition!


Eligibility Requirements
The RCO is an equal-opportunity employer. We employ only highly qualified musicians, who are
authorized to work in the United States. RCO employ
ees must complete an I-9 and provide
corresponding documentation when they begin work, which could consist of a trial period. Failure to do
so may result in the forfeiture of a position and/or trial period. The RCO will not delay the start date of
these positions or the trial period to secure documentation. Unfortunately, the RCO cannot assist with
Visa petitions, visa renewals, work authorization, or similar documentation.


The audition committee reserves the right to immediately dismiss any candidate not displaying the highest artistic standards. The Reno Chamber Orchestra is an Equal Opportunity Employer and an employer with zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment in the workplace.
