Cellist Zuill
Bailey, one of the RCO's favorites, will present a special
recital benefiting the RCO on Saturday, February 6 at 7:00
p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Avenue in Reno.
Tickets are $40 general admission, and $5 for youth under
eighteen and full-time students. They can be obtained by
calling (775) 348-9413 or online at RenoChamberOrchestra.org.
This recital by
Mr. Bailey is part of an exclusive West Coast tour on which he
will soon be embarking, promoting his new recording for the
Telarc label of Johann Sebastian Bach's Six Suites for Solo
Cello. Our benefit concert will feature his performances of
selections from that recording.
Scott Faulkner,
RCO executive director, says: "He looks like Johnny Depp and
plays the cello like Yo-Yo Ma. We are ecstatic that Zuill has
chosen Reno as one of the handful of cities in the West that
he will visit as part of this tour. He is one of the most
popular artists ever to perform as soloist with the Reno
Chamber Orchestra, and in addition to this benefit concert, we
eagerly anticipate his return to Reno on April 10 and 11, 2010
for performances of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the
RCO."
All proceeds
from the February 6 performance will benefit the
RCO.
